HELP for pain :((((((((((((((

JoeJoules, You’re right, No Idea, I can only imagine the pain, and to lefty2g, I would never compare the 2. I just know that it hurts me so much that my entire body shakes, I can’t talk, all I can do is concentrate on my breathing and make sure that I Keep breathing…

Besides over the counter, is there a mild pain killer? I don’t need to be completely numb to it, just some help.

I’ve tried icing for 20 mins prior, that did nothing for me.

Not having coffee did nothing for me.

The good thing is, once its over the pain is gone, I ice some when I get home and it takes a few days for the swelling to go down.

I would really like to start on my “ape” legs. Maybe one or 2 more times on the arms, then legs, then next yr chest/back.

But will not go any further unless I can manage the pain.

Ok, back to my question, All I would need is 1 or 2 pills per treatement, 1 to 2 hours before the hell begins (I’m guessing) - I plan on doing legs 4 - 6 treatments every 3 months.

Before I ask my primary care phy, does anyone have any experience or suggestions on meds?

Something simple like Ibuprofen should work. You also don’t need to ice for 20 mins beforehand. 5 mins beforehand should be fine. I actually don’t understand how you would handle 20 min icing procedure if that ice is actually cold. That sounds like torture in itself. They should do it RIGHT before applying laser to your skin. AND you should ice RIGHT AFTER the area has been treated. I would also use iced pure aloe vera gel to soothe the skin and ease the pain afterwards.

And do consider a numbing cream on the areas with the most coarse hair.

If you’re only looking to reduce the hair on your legs, you probably won’t need more than 4 treatments or so.

funny lagirl ;o) It was a bit of torture, but not as bad as getting zapped over 1400 times over and over and over and over…

I use the aloe twice a day for a week after the treatment, then after I shower the second week, then as needed if the skin feels dry, which because it was winter was pretty often…

I have coarse hair everywhere, so the numbing cream is out…

At the start, when hitting my upper arm up to the shoulder was extremely painful, now I barely feel the shoulder but the upper arm is still painful…

Ibuprofen doesn’t do much, I need something a bit stronger

Hi:

You could try a couple of Tylenol 3’s. You would probably
need a script for them though. That is what I use.

The doctors are probably going to be reluctant to prescribe anything stronger which might prove to be addictive.
