I thought I had paid through Groupon but it transpires I actually paid skin studio direct via visa debit card.
That sounds strange, but if the charge does not appear as groupon charge on your statement then you can dispute it on the grounds of service not being delivered.
Groupon charges directly for these and they take a 50-60% cut of it, so it doesn’t go directly from you to the clinic. Their FAQ says they will give a refund as well so I’d contact them. I’d still do a dispute with your credit card regardless though as they’re refusing to provide a service that you paid for.
Skin Studio have offered me a refund. Please see email below: -
[b][i]Simon,
I will refund you £78.40.
The figure has come from the following
£119 - £25 for patch test = £94
94 / 6 treatments £15.60
119 - 25 - 15.60 = £78.40
Please advise of the postal address you would like me to send the cheque to.
regards,

Should I accept?
The deal is that now they documented that they tried to resolve an issue with you and you will have hard time disputing charge on your CC.
You could argue that the session was not done correctly and therefore you should only be out of 25 pounds, but if I were you, I would just let them have their 15.60 and consider 40.60 as a life lesson.
The £25 patch test charge was never mentioned as being extra. Why should I pay it now?
I understand your frustration. What I was trying to say is that you might want to put this ordeal behind you.
However, you are within your right to pursue full refund. I am not sure how successful you are going to be.
One thing to consider is that if you pursue this issue with you CC company, it might side with the Spa, while the Spa might rescind their offer and you might end up with nothing.
So, if you really want to get a bigger refund, you might want to politely approach a spa about the issue of patch test. You might also want to figure out if they routinely charge for the patch test (either on their web-site or ask a friend to call to find out).
If they refuse to budge one thing to consider is that if you pursue this issue with you CC company, it might side with the Spa, while the Spa might rescind their offer and you might end up with nothing.
Well after weeks of pursuing Skin Studio I finally received a full refund. I must thank Guidance, who posts on here, who continued to give me valuable advice, via email throughout the ordeal.
I only wish she was nearer to me as I would have no hesitation in recommending her services. Thanks once again Guidance.
