feedback: alex laser settings

Did my clothes/bra irritate the skin or something? I just checked and it’s starting to fade a little.

It looks normal.

Do you really have coarse dark hair in those areas?

I would put on aloe vera and reassess in 24 hrs. It’s normal to have some redness for 1-2 days.

Those settings are relatively low for a 12mm spot size.

Okay, thanks!
No, the hair is black, but not coarse. I know that laser is best for thick, dark, coarse hair, so I am not expecting much. I’ll get some reduction if I’m lucky. I thought I’d give it a try since my other body parts have responded to laser well.
I’m hoping for a little reduction and possibly to weaken the hairs, because I don’t like getting ingrown hairs on my stomach after I wax (it looks like I constantly have goosebumps).

I’m going to ask the technician to use 15mm/20J/10ms on me next time (I’ve had a test patch with these settings done and my skin reacted well).

The problem is that by treating fine hair, you run the risk of inducing more growth.

The reason you are getting ingrowns is due to waxing. If you want to get rid of the ingrowns, you have to permanently get rid of the hair. You will need electrolysis for that.
