EMLA is an issue. Electrologists have been taught since 1994 to not use EMLA on large areas. It is toxic. That size area could cause liver damage, at the very least. And there was a death using EMLA in combination with a prescription medication, Xanax, I believe. It cause a 19 year old man to have a heart attack. Why risk it? Ice packs help a great deal.
