electrolysis update, (Simran)

Thanks for the advice and support you all. Ok i had my treatment done today. It was 20 minutes. She worked on the finer hairs most of them end of jaw near below ear area. (Inspecting in the mirror now I still see a couple finer hairs left behind in this area). Also did couple of finer hairs on the jaw line. A couple of finer hairs and 2 course hairs on chin. She did a few finer hairs near the upper side of lips…And i told her to do some near the side of mouth going down from lip. About 3 hairs between eyebrows…(none on the eyebrow itself as i told her not to do that area). I think she was done in 15 minutes and extra five was spent on doing more on lip and side of mouth downwards from lip area. SO overall about 2 course hairs on chin and rest were finer hairs

I asked which current she is using…And it is Thermolysis…She said that one works best on me. I also checked the needle size…its the finest gold needle and size 2 which has been used all along.

Ok I have booked in for another treatment which is at three weeks and four days. Not exactly my 4 weeks but at 3 i can usually feel one of those course chin hair coming and thats when i know i need to be going in for another appt, so we will see this time. But in the mean time I am going to be looking for other places too.

I also emailed another place. Its a spa/salon…and they do electrolysis as well. I asked them a couple of questions i.e type of electrolysis method performed, needle size, machine, years of experience among speed etc. I am waiting the reply and if its satisfactory then i will book a consultation appt to check it out. The place is close by so not bad there.
I might look for other ones too. Problem is I cant drive places so I have to look for ones where i can actually go by bus…Problem is I am also gonna start working this year so time where i can fit this in is gonna be a problem.

Im just getting impatient now…as i think i have been patient long enough now and not to mention been quite regular with my treatments. Want this hair problem sorted once and for all. I can feel it though I am quite close to the goal

Those hairs must be pretty small if a size two is being used. Good luck on your search expedition.

Ok i decided to upload some pics.
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/ClrpU041dbj_hzsuG0ejKg?authkey=s_tfY5_mvNU&feat=directlink

The first two pics are how my side burn area looked prior to any electrolysis treatments. Thats how it looked about 9 months-ish after laser treatments. What laser did was not kill any hairs in the sideburns but made any vellus peach fuzz hairs start growing. Thats when i decided to go the electrolysis route. Sorry if the pic is small but it was taken with mobile phone then.

The three pics afterwards are what the area looks like now after nearly 3 and half years. I just took these pics today so this is what it looks like few days after my current treatment which i went for few days ago. You can see scabs there as well.

For those who doubt it well i can say electrolysis DOES work.

The only thing which annoys me now is these last few finer hairs which can be cleared within 1 treatment BUT are just not done so. And what i see in the mirror is not something i imagine but is/can be seen in the photos as well. The lips, left and side areas just below the ears have these finer hairs. As well as in 3rd picture you can see near mouth there are a cluster of these finer hairs.

What annoyed me is even though im willing to pay more those noticeable hairs are just not cleared within a session but what is worked on is things in between them here and there. Thats why im looking to change.

One thing though i am very greatfull for is not having any pock/ puncture marks. Although in the last pic you can see side of lip to nose area some wrinkles which started to occur there after treatment in the lips area. I am hoping once all treatment is stopped near upper lips those wrinkles will go away?. Also another problem which i hope will go away is the pigmentation around mouth once i stop all electrolysis :s I do use sunblock alot and everyday though :s

So whats the take then, looking at before and after? Yea its working but abit too slow. I am pretty sure looking at the before side burn area. The side burns could have FULLY completed within 1.5 years especially if i been quite consistent with all my treatments and never missed any. In fact i havnt even gone on a holiday just so i dont miss on any treatments! At least I know im doing my side of things right. But I do feel better that this thing is working for me. Well thats my ranting for today!

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING! Those first two pictures are unbelievble! Are you saying that your sideburn hair was less than what is shown BEFORE laser stimulated this growth?

With a problem like you had, I would say forget about the time to completion with electrolysis. I know you are ever so grateful that this electrologist has brought you to this fantastic point. I think shes done well for you. Some people’s immune system makes them prone to hyperpig, but it usually fades after treatments have been completed. Wrinkling? How do you know if that was caused by electrolysis? I don’t really see a problem. and those scabs, not a huge problem. Your skin looks fantastic.

You had a LOT OF HAIR. Complaints of too slow takes a back seat. Your electrologist has done an outstanding job.

Hi dfahey yes it was laser stimulated growth. sure there was hair there but it was peach fuzz and not that big to be noticeable. Now in photo after laser you see the peach fuzz more longer and noticeable!. I started laser because I wanted to make the sideburn more smaller closer to the hairline…I guess i was looking for perfection but i ended up making it worse…Also with the laser the technician wasnt very trained and usually covered/zapped areas that i dint even ask to be zapped. Then once i stopped the laser for a number of months i saw that the hair surrounding the sideburn area half of cheeks to jawline were just getting longer and longer…i was quite horrified. Needless to say after exchanging email with James…back n forth…i went back to the place took a friend along for support. Good thing also i had kept an advert of theirs saying “money back gurantee” And it was good they refunded all the money back!!! Cause i wasnt gonna give up.

Slow but yes I am grateful…why im getting impatient…its been difficult to come up with excuses over the last 3 years where I am going when i go for my electrolysis session. No one in my family knows about my ordeal nor about the electrolysis sessions…My mom would freak and say why the hell m i wasting money on electrolysis…she never understood about such things…so if everything was fully completed then i wudnt have to worry about hiding this…and can even go on holidays!

as for the wrinkle…i noticed after my electrolysis session when i had bit of work done in that area. I mentioned about that a year ago…When i massage the area and use moisturizing oils it tends to go away…but yea the wrinkle looks like that after a session near the area…then it disappears after 2nd-3rd week and when i massage the area with oils.

So now you can boast and show your Mom those before and after pictures and ask her what she was saying about WASTING MONEY on electrolsysis??? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!

I’m just floored by your results. Be sure to hug your electrologist. Heck, give her a hug from me, too!

you dont know her…she is like a natural freako…first of all i would get huge as lectures for doing laser…saying i caused the problem…and the possible health damage…next i would get huge another set of lectures how i dunno the long term health effects of electrolysis this and that…then about how i love and spend too much money on this and that haha

she dont understand science even with facts…shes more into natural and ayurveda stuff lol

Hi:

I tend to agree with Dee on the results you achieved
looking very impressive. I know you are still bothered
by a few returning hairs, but they will be gone some day
soon too.

Speaking of hugging your electrolysis, mine gave me a big
hug before christmas and told me what a nice lady I was.
It felt good because I knew she was very sincere and
it was heartfelt.

Spending so many hours chatting with her we have gotten to
be good friends.

Everytime someone in my family asks me “When are you going to stop wasting your talents and get a real job?”, I tell them, that I have a job where I am a professional best friend. I meet people, make friends with them, do them a favor they can’t do for themselves, and then they introduce me to their friends… Oh, yes, and they pay me. It sure beats my desk job at the world’s formost opium money laundering bank.

Opium money laundering… now THERE’S one I didn’t consider when looking for a second career!!

Simran, I want to add my WOW to the post. It’s amazing what the laser did to you, but even MORE amazing what electrolysis has overcome! I am very happy for you, it looks great.

I agree that your progress is fine, but I also understand you wanting to get better results with every visit. I am by no means a pro, but I want to offer this… when going after the finer hairs, like the ones left behind, does your electrolygist use direct lighting, or non-direct? What I mean by this is, sometimes fine hairs are more visible when viewed by light at different angles, or perhaps when the hair is between the light and the eye.

I am sure your pro knows this, and I don’t want to offend, just trying to think of a way for her to see & remove more.

Still, great job. Take her to lunch sometime!

What happened?
