Electrolysis on toes and feet?

3 full clearances is enought to be hairfree on the feet and toes

3 clearances is true for Josefa’s work and other such skilled electrologists.

Since we don’t know anything about your electrologist, we cannot predict. The best course of action would to let all the hair grow in, if it hasn’t already (leave it all alone for a few months). Then have a full clearance… and I mean full.

This is where there might be some issues. In my experience, electrologists without great magnification or lighting have trouble getting all the hairs or doing so accurately. Any finer hairs left behind will be more obvious to you later and you might mistake them for regrowth. So if you can, try and get it all cleared. Then wait 3 months for the next cycle to come in… if it’s significantly reduced, you can assume your electrologist did a good job and you’ll probably only need two more treatments.

If it’s not so successful, you’ll still get there, it will just require more treatments.

People only go back every few weeks when they don’t clear everything (because the area is too large/too many hairs). Or, even if your electrologist does clear everything, when you first start seeing a few hairs you may want them out asap… so you won’t have latter clearances, you will just be getting whatever new stuff comes up as and when it does.

When I do the top of feet and toes, it is usually in conjunction with other areas. If I am working on a woman’s face, chest and abdomen, i could possibly be working on her toes and feet as well. It is very common for a client to ask for treatment in more than one area at a single session. Working on the toes can be more frequent, since working on other parts is more frequent. It is true that three, may even four clearings, spaced 3-4 months apart will work, but so will shorter treatments, closer together. It depends on the other variables involved.

Ok, I don’t mean to bring up an old topic but can someone please explain to me why it would be that the feet and toes would respond with so few treatments as opposed to hair on other parts of the body?

Hi Wildebeest, some electrologist’s (like Josefa) do this (3 treatments) on all body areas. The feet are no different. It all depends on the skill of the electrologist.

I love Mr. Bono’s “Total Treatment Time” as being the important thing. For the feet and toes, it’s not a lot because the density of hairs is generally very low.

Having had work done in the U.K on my toes and feet, I can tell you if I had continued, it would have taken many more than 3, 3 month spaced clearings to get rid of all my hair.

damn…i have hair on my toes and on the tops of my feet and its not sparse or thin too…so i guess it would just be like the rest and take years. thanks for the info

Electrolysis shouldn’t take years if you are keeping on schedule. No one area tackled properly takes longer than 12 months? 18 months?

I would stop worrying about it and ask your electrologist. She will know how approximately long clearance will take. If it will take an hour or less, go for it. After two clearances, spaced 3 months apart, you can decide if you want to continue or not based on results.

Body work doesn’t take as many clearances as facial work. If one got full clearances, 6 clearances might even do the trick.
