Isn’t it scary that only 4 hospitals in the U.S. have the proper facilities and trained staff to handle dangerous infectious diseases? For a country of 300 million, I think we are playing with fire by not expanding our capabilities to handle infectious diseases that require highest level of isolation.
YES that IS scary … I had no idea! YIKES!
I do remember many years ago when my mom was in the hospital. Next to her room was the “isolation” room for somebody with some sort of nasty bug. HOWEVER … out in the hall was a hamper loaded with soiled sheets from THE PATIENT IN THE ISOLATED ROOM! There were even some soiled items on the floor. Lovely!
HOSPITALS! I prefer the German word “Krankenhaus” or ‘sick’ house! 'Cause that’s often where you get sick!
