I suppose if one has gone off grid, and the power to run the autoclave, or dry heat sterilizer is coming from the sun, the stream in your backyard, or geothermal, you could save some money, but with the grid based power systems, I don’t think one saves anything resterilizing probes/needles, other than not needing to reorder them as quickly.
I would take a wild guess that between power usage, and misc. “delivery fees” running the sterilizer might be MORE EXPENSIVE. Of course, I would have to actually run the math to know for sure.
