Well, it’s been a while, but I’m posting an update! I’ve had all five treatments with ALC, and I was happy overall with my experience. I’ve had a VERY noticeable reduction in the amount of hair on my upper legs. I still have some hair, so I have another appointment scheduled and may do one more, but I no longer have any issues with ingrown hairs and I can shave much less frequently. My skin seemed to adapt to the laser and I haven’t used Emla the last couple of times. It’s painful, but not intolerable, and my skin recovers quickly.
I only had one minor burn on a scar on my knee that is darker than the surrounding skin. I think the extra pigment made it burn a bit. It was a little scab and healed fine with no increased scaring.
I expect that I’ll finish up the few straggler dark hairs I have (I still have the blond fuzzy hair on the front of my legs, but I don’t mind that at all) with electrolosis. But, as soon as I can afford it, I’m going to have my lower legs done with laser too.
