13th electrolysis session

What wild and weird assumptions are you referring to?

Your post seems to assume that the only consideration in hair removal is pleasing women. Now that’s what I call a wild and weird assumption.

There are countless reasons. Maybe I don’t like hair coming off on my shirts every day. Maybe I don’t like that body hair gets sweaty and sticky when you go running or exercising in warm weather. Maybe I like to see muscles that I work to develop in the gym. Maybe I want to get my chest and back tattooed. Maybe it’s just what I want.

I’m male and I really dislike my body hair. Does that make me wild and weird?

Of course not! Lol!

People (men and women) like it both ways.

Yeah Kostik, et al., Helen’s comments weren’t exactly “enlightened,” were they? But I’m happy to see her remarks … Thanks kiddo!

See, this (actually) prejudicial attitude toward men’s hair removal was pervasive in electrology … and it has only gotten somewhat better (at least among so-called professionals).

Women often go into depression over a hair or two on their boobs … maybe a tiny mustache … but a guy who wants a blanket of hair removed is “sort of weird.” Women can be just as dense as men, although we’re typically “stupider” on such issues.

How about this, “I find a couple boob hairs sort of sexy … I like to play with them.” How does THAT sound?

When I started getting my own body hair removed, nearly all the electrologists told me I was weird and added that they thought my hair looked SEXY! One asked me point blank if I was a “transvestite?” (I didn’t know what the word meant.) They cheeped me out!

One of them ran her hands through my hair and made a sexual comment. This was not a welcome remark when I was 22-years-old and the “old geezer” was in their 50s! Could a male electrologist “get away with that shit?”

The bottom line is that nobody owes anybody ANY explanation for why they want their hair removed. It’s your damned body … nobody else’s!

Even today, nearly all my male clients encountered sexist comments from their former electrologists … we still have some “work to do!” One (new customer) guy, I will say is drop-dead gorgeous, was repeatedly propositioned by his female electrologist! And, I don’t mean just “going to lunch!”

You know what? We guys just want our hair removed like you do … PLEASE save us from your sexist comments, judgments and innuendo. Just shut up and “pluck 'em!”

By the way … “GUTTED”

how much have 13 sessions cost you?

ozarksace my weird comment was refering to Kostik talking about electrolysis technics in her/his previous post nothing to do with people choosing or not to remove their body hair.

Regarding my opinion on body hair, people including myself are too hung on on body / facial hair I just feel that men don’t need to worry too much about body hair I was trying to reassure the person if they are not looking to transgender or built like a wolf no one is going to comment on it and its normal.

Personally I believe a lot of people but not all remove hair because they are self conscious and I was trying to reassure the poster that their was no need to be. I understand if they don’t feel the same I never had a go at anyone for doing so or ask for anyone to explain their reason’s why, my post was to try and help the poster with making them hopefully feel better about themselves.

Weird was not referring to anyone removing hair please read back Kostik previous post to understand and confusion and comments.
I have copied and pasted what I was refering to so their is no further confusion.

I don’t know exactly how much electricity is used to zap a follicle, but I suspect it’s enough to kill a small animal - probably anything up to a guinea pig.

WTF

They charge $130/hr plus $90 for the needle (I’ve gone through two). I haven’t added it up but probably around $3500-4000. Worth every penny of it.

Kostik, do the needles have a gold plated stem ?

$90.00 for a probe/ “needle” is robbery. A probe should be $2.50 or under and should be pre-packaged and sterile (absence of germs) for each session. Do you use the same probe for different sessions? Is it sterilized after each session and re-used until it wears out?

Kostik, thanks for sharing. It is so interesting to watch the progression. I really think we all experience different levels of pain. I’m glad that you made it through with the lidocaine shots. I think the results look fantastic.

Dee, yes I use the name needle / probe (and I assume it is sterilized!) - I’ve only changed it once when the insulation near the tip disintegrated. I posted a picture of it once before … I can do so again later when I’m home (traveling right now). Another poster identified the equipment as coming from Japan.

At least I know it’s not ours then, thank you.
